About Us

We're Thrivent Financial for Lutherans, a faith-based, not-for-profit membership organization nearly 2.6 million members strong. We're a Fortune 500 financial services organization with the strength of more than $61 billion in assets under management.

More Facts and Financials

Being membership-owned, Thrivent Financial does what's best for our members, supporting the values of faith, family, stewardship and service. You'll see it in the ways we help you and your family achieve financial security. You'll feel it in how we help members connect with each other. And you'll be proud of how we help members invest in their communities and congregations.

Our Mission, Vision and Values

For more than a century, our blend of financial expertise, shared values and service to members has set us apart. As the nation's largest fraternal benefit society, we're here solely to help others. Every day, we make a difference through the:

  • Financial solutions we offer.
  • Member activities we support.
  • Resources we provide the Lutheran community and nonprofit organizations.

Membership in Thrivent Financial is all about thriving—strengthening your life and the lives of others.

Membership: Who We Serve

Like all fraternal benefit societies (not-for-profit life insurance organizations), Thrivent Financial is required to serve a specific group of people with common interests or beliefs. Thrivent Financial is organized for Lutherans and their families. Each individual applying for membership must demonstrate a Lutheran connection and support the organization's mission. That said, many of Thrivent Financial's charitable (fraternal) programs touch individuals of all faiths and backgrounds, and some financial products offered through the organization's subsidiaries—like mutual funds and banking products—are, by regulation, available to anyone.
