Thrivent Investment Management, Inc., a subsidiary of Thrivent Financial for Lutherans, maintains important business continuity and disaster recovery plans that may be used in the event of a significant business interruption. Thrivent Investment Management, Inc. realizes the critical nature of being able to continue operations if an incident occurs that could affect important business units and systems. These plans are key components in maintaining emergency procedures, and are required by securities industry regulations Thrivent Investment Management Inc. will assure our members prompt access to their funds and securities.
The Business Continuity Management process begins with each business division reviewing its business continuity risk. This process encompasses all aspects of Thrivent Investment Management's activities. This assessment defines, for each business process, its criticality, exposure to risk, and likelihood of failure.
Business units then develop plans to mitigate interruptions of processes deemed critical. Critical data and systems are backed-up, and alternate systems and procedures are identified to enable continued business functionality. Business Continuity Plans are reviewed regularly and updated at least annually. Plans deemed critical are tested annually.
Thrivent Investment Management Inc.’s business continuity plans provide for continuity of critical operations and other activities during a variety of interruptions. They include conducting operations from alternate sites in different locations, if necessary. These plans are designed to enable Thrivent Investment Management Inc. to continue operations whether the interruption is firm wide, or city wide, affecting an entire business district, region or a single building. Thrivent Investment Management Inc.’s business continuity plans provide for continuation of all critical operations during a variety of interruptions. Thrivent has facilitated recovery internally for mainframe recovery, work area recovery and critical operational recovery of systems and applications. In addition, Thrivent has contracted third party services with vendors who provide:
- Remote recovery for phone features and functionality – out of state location.
- Work area recovery facilities – locally.
If so warranted, Thrivent may utilize alternate facilities depending on the type and scope of interruption. Based on the type and scope of the interruption, any or all of these services may be utilized.
In addition, Thrivent Investment Management Inc. is committed to maintaining effective communications with its members and clients during a business interruption. Our business continuity plans are reviewed and tested to ensure appropriate enhancements are implemented as technology improves, business plans evolve, or regulatory requirements change.
