Thrivent Investment Management, Inc., a subsidiary of Thrivent Financial for Lutherans, maintains important disaster recovery and business continuity plans that may be used in the event of a significant business disruption. These plans are key components in maintaining emergency procedures, and are required by securities industry regulations Thrivent Investment Management Inc. will assure our members prompt access to their funds and securities.

The Business Continuity Management process begins with each business division reviewing its business continuity risk.  This process encompasses all aspects of Thrivent Investment Management's activities.  This assessment defines, for each business process, its criticality, exposure to risk, and likelihood of failure.

Business units then develop plans to mitigate interruptions of processes deemed critical.  Critical data and systems are backed-up, and alternate systems and procedures are identified to enable continued business functionality.  Business Continuity Plans are reviewed regularly and updated at least annually. Plans deemed critical are tested annually.

Thrivent Investment Management Inc.’s business continuity plans provide for continuity of critical operations and other activities during a variety of disruptions. They include conducting operations from alternate sites in different locations, if necessary. These plans are designed to enable Thrivent Investment Management Inc. to continue operations whether the disruption is firm wide, or city wide, affecting an entire business district, region or a single building. Thrivent Investment Management Inc.’s business continuity plans provide for continuation of all critical operations during a variety of disruptions.  Thrivent has contracted third party services with vendors who provide:

  • Mainframe recovery - out of state location
  • Mobile recovery units - locally
  • Work area recovery hotsite facilities - locally
  • Critical operational area recovery - out of state locations

If so warranted, Thrivent may utilize alternate facilities depending on the type and scope of disruption.  Based on the type and scope of the interruption, any or all of these services may be utilized.

In addition, Thrivent Investment Management Inc. is committed to maintaining effective communications with its members and clients during business disruption. Our business continuity plans are reviewed and tested to ensure appropriate enhancements are implemented as technology improves, business plans evolve, or regulatory requirements change.
