Bonnie E. Raquet, Mound, MN, was appointed to Thrivent Financial for Lutherans Board of Directors on Feb. 17, 2010. She serves on the Governance and Investment committees of the board.

Raquet serves as Cargill's corporate vice president, Corporate Affairs. She leads the organization's worldwide corporate affairs activities, including Government Relations, Media, Communications, Brand Management, Marketing Services and Corporate Responsibility, as well as representing Cargill's business and corporate policy interests. Raquet chairs the Cargill Corporate Affairs Committee and is a member of the Cargill Brand Council and the Marketing Academy Steering Team.

Raquet joined Cargill in 1982 as an attorney. In 1985 she transferred to Cargill's Geneva, Switzerland Law Department, and in 1988 returned to Minneapolis as senior attorney in Cargill's Corporate Law Department. In 1996, she joined Public Affairs and managed the Government and International Relations Office in Washington, D.C.

Raquet was appointed by the U.S. Secretary of Agriculture and the U.S. Trade Representative to the Agricultural Policy Advisory Committee for Trade in 2008. She is a member of the National Association of Manufacturers National Public Affairs Steering Committee, and International Economic Policy Committee and the Government Affairs Committee of the Grocery Manufacturers of America.

Raquet is a member of the board of directors of TechnoServe, Inc., a global economic development organization, where she serves on the Audit Committee. She also is a member of the board of directors of the Friends of the U.N. World Food Program, the advisory board of directors of the World Agriculture Forum, and the board of directors of the YMCA of Metropolitan Minneapolis, serving on the Executive Committee. She is a member of the board of trustees of Valparaiso University, where she chairs the Governance Committee and serves on the Executive Committee, and of the board of trustees of The Luther Seminary Foundation, serving on the Finance Committee.

Raquet received a bachelor's degree in history from Valparaiso University, a master's degree in history from Cleveland State University and her J.D. cum laude from the University of Minnesota Law School. She is admitted to practice law in Minnesota and the District of Columbia.
