Investment Objective
- Seeks income plus long-term capital growth.
Investment Strategy
- Thrivent Equity Income Plus Portfolio is a broadly diversified global Portfolio of dividend-paying stocks that uses state-of-the-art risk management and optimization tools. It aims to achieve higher-than-market income, and focuses on fundamental factors such as broad economic trends, company fundamentals, dividend yield, dividend growth, and dividend payout ratio.
Benefits of Investing in the Thrivent Equity Income Plus Portfolio
- This Portfolio offers an equity alternative that can help your retirement savings keep pace with inflation. Its broad diversification across many types of equities may reduce volatility. Of course, diversification does not guarantee against a loss in a declining market.
- The Portfolio managers seek consistent dividend-paying securities that contribute to long-term growth. All of the above are contained in a single investment option.
Special Investment Risks
- Stocks are subject to the basic market and volatility risks in that a particular security, or securities in general, may decrease in value over short or even extended time periods. Volatility risk is the risk that certain types of securities shift in and out of favor depending on market and economic conditions as well as investor sentiment and diversification does not guarantee against a loss in a declining market.
- Foreign investments involve additional risks, including currency fluctuations; greater political, economic and market instability; and different accounting standards. These risks are magnified when the Portfolio invests in emerging markets which may be smaller and less liquid than domestic markets.
- Real estate security prices are influenced by the underlying value of properties owned by the company, which may be influenced by the supply and demand for space and other factors. The real estate industry is cyclical, and the value of securities issued by companies doing business in the real estate industry may fluctuate in value.
- Preferred securities have certain additional risks, including, but not limited to: they may include provisions that permit the issuer, at its discretion, to defer or omit distributions for a stated period without any adverse consequences to the issuer.
- These and other risks are described in the prospectus.
Investment Minimums
- All initial and subsequent investment minimums exist at the contract level. Most subaccounts carry no investment minimums.
- However, a minimum of $1,000 is required if you choose to use the DCA (Dollar Cost Averaging) Fixed Account to fund periodic investments to other subaccounts. See the prospectus for additional information.
