Grow With Us
Our success comes from believing in what we do. When you join our team, you'll see that making a difference in people's lives is a commitment that we all share. From helping members build financial security to building hope through Thrivent Builds with Habitat for Humanity – it's all in a day's work. And at the end of the day, you'll know you've made an impact.
Our regional financial office supports our team members in giving back to their congregations and communities. One example of this is Thrivent Builds with Habitat for Humanity®. Together, we have helped build homes with partner families in need of decent, affordable housing.
David Mietzner
Dave Mietzner knows what it takes to be a leader. As a teacher and coach in the LCMS school system, he encouraged students to excel and he provided the guidance to help them succeed. He does the same for the financial representatives on his team.
After an 11-year career in education, Dave became a financial representative with Thrivent Financial for Lutherans in 1987. In 1982, he accepted a position in the corporate office as a sales systems specialist. He continued to advance in his career, becoming service team director in 1994, director of Field Training in 1997, director of Career/Employee Development in 2002 and director of Business Development with Thrivent Financial Bank in 2004.
Dave accepted a partner position with the Mid-South Regional Financial Office in 2007. In 2009, he became partner for the South Regional Financial Office.
While Dave's drive, dedication and professionalism have helped lead him to success, he says, "God has blessed me beyond what I deserve."
Dave has earned CLU (Chartered Life Underwriter) and ChFC (Chartered Financial Consultant) designations granted by the American College, Bryn Mawr, Pennsylvania. He is a member of NAIFA in Chattanooga, and president of Good Shepherd Lutheran.
He and his wife, Becky, have two children. Dave enjoys running, water and snow skiing, and college basketball.
Edward Ahl
Ed believes that "there is always room for improvement." It is this philosophy that has led him to success in his career.
Ed joined the organization in May 2006 as a professional development manager. His prior experience in the financial services industry and his innate leadership abilities led him to his current position as a partner in 2007.
"It's important not to dwell on the things that you have neither influence nor control over," explains Ed. It is evident that he abides by this philosophy, leading by example and motivating his team members to achieve their fullest potential.
Ed and his wife, Kathy, have one child. They reside in Benton, Arkansas. In his free time, Ed enjoys sports and music.
