Exciting opportunities await you if you qualify to be a Thrivent Financial representative. Job requirements include:

  • Obtain state insurance licenses with required lines of authority (life, health & variable contracts) prior to the solicitation or sale of insurance products and obtain and maintain Series 7 and 66; Series 7, 65 and 63; or Series 6 and 63 registrations.
  • Become a Thrivent Financial insurance or annuity product owner within 90 days of contracting with Thrivent Financial as a financial representative.
  • Have a satisfactory credit/background check which includes a review of credit history, criminal history, employment and education verifications, and securities registration and/or insurance licensing verification, if applicable. Will also have a satisfactory fingerprint card check.
  • Be legally authorized to work in the United States for an indefinite period of time.
  • Have all outside business activity reviewed to assure no conflicts of interest exist. All outside business activity must be pre-approved by the supervising managing partner.

Hiring Process

Becoming a Thrivent Financial representative involves a series of interviews that will identify if you and the financial representative career are a good fit. The following process outlines the steps you'll take when becoming a Thrivent Financial representative.

Step 1 – Approach and First Contact

After you apply for a sales position with Thrivent Financial for Lutherans, your application will be screened. If selected, we will contact you to discuss the next steps in the process.

Step 2 – Connect Interviews

We'll conduct a series of interviews and discussions with you, to make sure you understand the expectations of the position. We will also perform the background check and credit check, which further aids the selection process.

Step 3 – Gather Data

This portion of the process is designed to allow you to perform research and investigate the opportunities and realities of a financial representative career. Interviews will be scheduled, which allow you to discuss findings and verify that you would like to continue on the path to becoming a financial representative.

Step 4 – Case Analysis

At this point, there's an in-depth review and discussion, based on all prior interviews and research, to examine whether this career is the right fit.

Step 5 – Take Action

It's time to commit to Thrivent Financial and to your career. You'll fill out all the necessary paperwork, and you'll go through the process of obtaining your insurance and securities licenses.

Step 6 – Pre-Launch

As you prepare to take your official step onto the path of a financial representative, Thrivent Financial leadership takes time to provide mentorship and guidance.

Previous experience is not required!

While past experience is helpful, it is not required for this position. In fact, many successful Thrivent Financial representatives have no prior experience in sales/financial services.
