Chapter Guidelines
Many chapter leadership boards find it helpful to establish and update guidelines and processes for the upcoming year.
Following are some examples of topics your board may want to discuss:
- How and when your board will begin the planning process to engage in meaningful dialogue and thoughtful, deliberate planning to make Thrivent Financial’s mission relevant in their community. (Chapter Planning Template | Chapter Planning Facilitator Guide)
- Funding guidelines – use the chapter plan to determine where to focus funding.
- How your board wants to receive activity/funding requests (e.g., submit a form, call a chapter leader, etc.). A Request for Funding form is available to members.
- Possible deadlines for submitting requests.
- How service teams will be notified when requests are approved or denied.
- What instructions, forms and materials you will provide to service teams when an activity is approved.
- How funds will be collected, deposited and paid.
- Who will be responsible for entering activity requests and results online.
- What types of member socials or educational workshops might your chapter offer to members to increase engagement and possibly attract new members.
- Who will be responsible for entering chapter meeting minutes online.
- How your board will promote events.
- How your board will budget the chapter's operating funds.
- Who will enter operating funds expenses online.
