Express Access® Prescription Drug Discount Benefit

As a member of Thrivent Financial for Lutherans, you can take advantage of a membership benefit that may help reduce your out-of-pocket expenses for prescription drugs.

Note: This benefit is not a Medicare Part D prescription drug plan. Using the Express Access prescription drug discount benefit in conjunction with, or in lieu of, a Medicare Part D Prescription Drug Plan may reduce or eliminate the benefits provided by the Medicare Part D coverage. Thrivent Financial for Lutherans is not connected with or endorsed by the U.S. Government or the federal Medicare program.

Key Features of the Express Access Benefit

• No enrollment fee or annual fee.
• Discount applies to all prescription drugs.
• Flexibility to get prescriptions from a local, participating pharmacy or by mail.
• Members save an average of 30%, based on Thrivent Financial monthly usage reports. And members using the card are assured of at least $1 worth of retail savings on each prescription.¹

Who can benefit from Express Access? Those who:

• Participate in a health insurance plan that does not cover any prescription drugs.
• Do not participate in another prescription drug discount program, including Medicare Part D, or a Medicare Advantage or Medicare Cost plan with prescription drug coverage.
• Do not have prescription coverage and do pay a fee to participate in a different prescription drug discount program.

The Express Access Prescription Drug Discount Benefit is administered by Express Scripts Inc., one of the nation's largest independent pharmacy benefit management companies. On average, participants may save 15% on brand-name prescription drugs and 35% on generic drugs when purchased at a retail store. (Savings are even greater – 25% on brand-name drugs, 46% on generics – when using the program's mail-order pharmacy.)

Important Details About the Benefit

The Express Access benefit is not designed to help individuals who have health insurance or a Medicare plan that includes prescription drug coverage. Do NOT enroll in Express Access if you have health insurance with prescription drug coverage, Medicare Part D, or a Medicare Advantage or Medicare Cost plan with prescription drug coverage..

Any discounts related to this benefit are not insurance. Also, the Express Access discount cannot be used in conjunction or coordination with health insurance that includes prescription drug coverage or other prescription drug discount programs.

If members enroll in Express Access, and later get health insurance or a Medicare plan with prescription drug coverage, they MUST notify Thrivent Financial to remove them from the Express Access benefit. To disenroll, call 800-847-4836, and at the prompt ("How can I help you today?"), say "Fraternal."

The Express Access benefit does not charge a fee and provides a discount on all prescription drugs. Compare cost estimates for the medications you take.

To get an estimated cost of your medicines with Express Access, call the Express Scripts customer service staff at 877-274-8010, press 0 and press 0 again. (To avoid confusion and to facilitate answering your question, give the customer service representative the following Open Enrollment Identification Number: 111-211-001.)
