What's one thing you could change in your financial life and quickly see the impact? We've all got something we could do better. Maybe you could open a savings account (or add money to an existing account). Perhaps your family will save all your change this summer and donate it to charity. It might be time you will finally write a will.

Whether you choose to start simple or take a big first step, that one change can really make a difference.

Allow us to nudge you in the right direction. We're calling it Do One Thing Differently, and we aim to inspire our members to action with tips, tools and opportunities for change. Don't miss this ch-ch-chance to ch-ch-change one thing.

Take Action Tip for Today

One way to get started is to read our Do One Thing Differently daily tips. Simply select your age bracket and find a new way every day to make a change.

Here are some sample tips:

  • If the term "emergency fund" sounds negative to you, think of it as an "opportunity fund." Then, start saving. If you regularly stash some cash in a savings account, it will be there (plus interest) when you need it. You’ll be prepared should your cat need "emergency" surgery or you have the "opportunity" to vacation in Mexico.
  • Financial jargon is confusing all year long, but it's particularly perplexing during tax season. For example, what's the difference between a tax credit and a tax deduction? Allow us to educate without intimidation. You can subtract dollar for dollar a tax credit from the amount you owe in taxes. Therefore, it is more valuable than a tax deduction, which reduces the amount of income you pay taxes on.
