We want to support you in your job search with resources that may help you be better prepared and more confident.
We've partnered with the largest employers association in the Midwest, MRA – the Management Association, to bring you a series of educational web modules on topics related to job transition. Use the modules:
- Independently anytime.
- As an educational component of an ongoing job transition ministry or networking group.
- To bring people together for an educational event. The Job Transition Strategies workshop is available through your Thrivent financial representative.
Modules
- General Advice (19 min.)

- Networking (30 min.)

- Interviewing (37 min.)
The job interview remains pivotal to any job search. For many job seekers, this is one of the most intimidating parts of the process. This module covers the basics and prepares job seekers for common interview challenges.
- Using Job Boards (43 min.)
Job boards have largely replaced newspapers as the primary channel that employers use to promote job opportunities. This module covers the basics: which job boards to use, mistakes to avoid and how to get the most from these new resources.
- Personal Branding & Differentiation (32 min.) Even if they don't realize it, sophisticated job seekers practice an advanced technique called personal branding. - Using LinkedIn & Social Media (28 min.)
LinkedIn has become a preferred tool for many employers and recruiters. Savvy job seekers will want to master LinkedIn, both to find opportunities and to be "findable."
- Negotiation (32 min.)
Even in a tight job market, successful job seekers should be prepared to play an active role in negotiating the terms of employment. This module challenges common misconceptions and prepares job seekers to negotiate effectively.
